Biography

John Findley was married to Nancy Good.[1][2]

On 26 Feb 1788 Henry Good of Craven County, South Carolina, Yeoman sold to John Finley of same, for 2000 pounds current money, a tract of 230 acres of land on the north side of the shouth fork of Fishing Creek adjoining William Calley, John Ash, and the lands formerly belonging to John Bratton, part of a tract granted to Ephraim McLean by patent on 16 no 1764 and made over by McLean to John Davison 25 Sep 1766 and from Davison to the said Henry Good 06 Apr 1771. Witnessed by James McReynolds, Robert Good and Thomas Good and proven in Camden District, York County 03 Jul 1786 on oath of James McReynolds before W Bratton, JP.[3][4]

On 14 Apr 1788, Henry Good of Ninety Six District, South Carolina sold to WIlliam Bratton of York County, a 200 acre tract on the waters of Fishing Creek adjoining Wiliam Ash Jr., Thomas Bratton, William Davidson and John Finley.[5][3]

On 07 Jul 1788, John Finley, John Williams and James Bratton were witnesses to a deed wherein James McReynolds and wife Margaret of Camden District sold land on a fork of Fishing Creek known as Beckey's Branch to Joseph Dickson of Lincoln County, North Carolina.[6][3]
