Biography

Henry was born 1 Jan 1830 or 1831. He enlisted in 1862 and served until 1865. 5th Regiment, Company H, East Tenn Inf. He was described as age 32, 5'10" tall, with a dark complexion, blue eyes and black hair.

Henry married Ellen Caroline Reavely in 1870. From FAG: they had two children, James Franklin and Ellen Cornelia. James' death record lists Henry's 2nd wife, Sarah Jane Rowland, as his mother. Eleanor does not appear on the 1870 Census, but Henry is listed with several of his siblings, and living next door to another brother and his family.

Henry was about 50 years old when he married Sarah Jane, in 1881 and had applied for disability from his military service. He is listed on the 1890 Census for Civil War Soldiers. He and Sarah Jane appear on the 1900 and 1910 census. Henry died in 1915.
