Biography
Zana was born in 1854.[1]She is the daughter of William Finlayson and Sophia Dyer. The 1861 Census found the family in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England.[2] She married Thomas Henry Brewer in 1897[3] Zana's parents moved to South Africa at some point, and she remained in England, as shown in her mother's Probate record. The record also names her siblings and their places of residence: Ada Percy, born Finlayson - no residence noted, Wallace Finlayson - New Zealand, Percy Wallace Finlayson and Colin Finlayson - Walmer, Harry Finlayson - Blenkwater, Thomas Finlayson - Natal, and Charles Finlayson - Port Elizabeth. Zana passed away very late in 1920, or in the first Quarter of 1921, aged 67 [4]
