In 1881, age 59, Robert was an Unemployed Iron Grinder living at E C Manse, Larbert, Stirlingshire with his wife Agnes (58), sons Robert (23), a Grate Fitter at a Foundry, and James (21), a Pattern Maker at a Foundry and grandson David (14), a Grate Fitter at a Foundry.
On 13 Jul 1889, age 67, Robert passed away. His occupation was given as Iron Grinder and he was married to Agnes WILSON. His parents were given as Malcolm FINLAYSON, Iron Grinder (deceased) and Elizabeth FINLAYSON née DONALDSON (deceased). The informant was his son Malcolm whose address was Dobbie's Buildings, Larbert.
