Biography

Malcolm was born in 1859. He is the son of Malcolm Finlayson and Mary McGregor. In the 1861 and 1871 census Malcolm is living with his widower father, but in the1881 census ( which is after his father had died), he is in the Bank of Scotland in Blackford as an apprentice law clerk, along with the Lawson family. David Lawson, the head of the family is a banker and merchant, and Malcolm Finlayson is listed as a visitor. The statutory record of his death gives Malcolm's occupation as a solicitor and the cause of death as heart failure.
