Biography

John Robert Finley was born about 1785 in Laurens, South Carolina to parents Paul Finley and Mary Margaret (Polly) Martin. He married Mary Griffen about 1806 in Laurens, South Carolina. Children: Amanda (Maude), Margaret (Peggy), James, Hampton, Virginia (Ginnie). He died about 1852 in Laurens, South Carolina. John and Peggy are buried in the Walker-Coleman Family Cemetery, in Cross Hill, Laurens County, South Carolina.

John Finley was a Revolutionary War Solder.
