Mary Finney was born about 1836 in Canada.[1][2] Based on her sister, Nancy's, information, Mary's father is John Finney and her mother is Nancy Cruickshanks[3] or possibly Mary (nee unknown).[4] Mary and Nancy may be half-sisters.
On 22 August 1858, Mary married John Welsh in St. Clair County, Michigan, United States. Her sister, Nancy, and Nancy's fiance, Elias Ward, were witnesses.[1] Their children are
Selina Welsh (1859-)
Ezra J. Welsh (1865-)
On the 21 June 1860 census of Lenox, Macomb County, Michigan, she was living with her husband and daughter.[5]
On the 30 July 1870 census of Richmond, Macomb County, Michigan, she was living with her husband, daughter, and son.[6]
On the June 1880 census of Richmond Michigan, she was living with her husband and son.[7]
Mary died 16 OCT 1886 in Richmond, Macomb, Michigan, USA.[2] She is buried there in Richmond Cemetery.[8]
Notes
Sisters Mary Finney[1] and Nancy Finney are not daughters of John Finnie and his wife Sophia (Watt) Finnie. The sisters' mother is Nancy Cruickshanks or possibly Mary (nee unknown). They could be half-sisters. Nancy Finney's Find A Grave notation about mother Sophia Watt is probably incorrect.[9]
