Biography

This profile is part of the St Helens, Lancashire One Place Study.

Margaret Finney was christened on 25 Dec 1839 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. She was the daughter of James and Margaret Finney. Her father was a watch-maker of Eccleston.

By June 6th 1841, the family was living in Hackley Moss, Eccleston. Martha's father was a journeyman watch maker; her brother Thomas was an apprentice watch maker.
