Richard Firth
Richard was born in England, c. 1570. The birth date is a guess, based on unknown facts.
Richard "Frith" was among those on a list printed by Captaine James Smith as one of "the First Planters" in 1607.[1] So it appears he may have made one of the early voyages to Jamestown, or he may not.
The name, "Richard Frith, Gentleman," also appears on "The Second Charter of Virginia; May 23, 1609."[2] This Second Charter names investors who stayed in England as well as investors who actually went to the colony. It does not actually state that Richard Frith was a passenger. He may have returned and invested from England.
There was no Richard Frith or Firth present at any of the Jamestown Musters.[3] He may have died in Virginia, or he may have remained in England.
Nugent reports no patent or transportation of a Richard Frith (or Firth), but there were others who arrived at Virginia: Ed., Henry, Mary, Joseph, and Tho. Frith.[4]
