Biography
Abraham Firth, son of James Firth, publican, & Nancy, was born on 30 June 1813 and baptised on 21 August 1813 at the King Street Wesleyan Methodist Church in Haslingden, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom.[1]
Abraham married Sarah Nutall on 31 August 1835 at St Mary the Virgin, Eccles, Lancashire, England.[2] Together they had at least two children before her death.

In the 1851 census Abraham (age 35), widower, was the lodger of Samuel Haslam at Buller Street in Manchester, Lancashire, England. He was an overlooker of weavers and lived there with his daughter.[3]
When Abraham was 36 years old he married Catharine Mayclam (age 39, spinster) on 12 June 1851 in St Mary's Parsonage, Manchester, Lancashire, England.[4] They had no known children.
In the 1861 census Abraham (age 47) was the head of household in Heaton Norris, Lancashire, England.[5]
