Alfred was born on 17 May 1894 in Clark Township, Tama, Iowa.[1][2]

On 25 Jun 1917 Alfred registered for the World War 1 draft. At this time he was an Assistant Bank Cashier at Clutier State Bank in Clutier, Iowa.[1]

Alfred and Albina were married on 22 Nov 1921 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.[4]

On 27 Apr 1942 Alfred registered for the World War 2 draft. At this time he was a Banker at Clutier State Bank in Clutier, Iowa.[5]
