Christine was born in 1961 the daughter of Lawrence and Ann (Gorman) Fischer.
She married Daniel Olmsted and they have a son Zack.
She passed away in 2017.
Christine “Chris” Olmsted, age 56, of Bear Creek passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Christine Mary Fischer was born on July 2, 1961 at New London Hospital to Lawrence and Ann (Gorman) Fischer. Chris grew up in Shiocton and graduated from Shiocton High School in 1979. She was united in marriage on October 23, 1982 to Daniel J. Olmsted at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton. Chris began working at Hillshire Farm – Sara Lee Foods in New London shortly after high school. She was employed at Hillshire from 1980 to 2013. Then Chris worked for a short time at Specialized Products in Clintonville as her health allowed.
Chris was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Her favorite pastime was playing cards or dice, especially Thirty-One or 5’s. She liked camping trips with family, attending Hodag County Festival, and listening to country music like Reba McEntire and George Strait. Chris enjoyed playing bean bag toss at the cottage, her trip to Mexico with girlfriends, and mowing the lawn. She also liked watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR, especially Jimmy Johnson. Chris was an avid reader and could finish a Danielle Steel book in a day. She loved spending time with family and friends and will be remembered most for her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Dan; one son, Zach (Amber) Olmsted of Bear Creek, and her mother, Ann Fischer of Clintonville. There is one sister, Sharon (Keith) Pingel of Shiocton; and two brothers, Ken (April) Fischer of New London and Greg (Michelle) Fischer of New London. There are eleven sisters and brothers-in-law; Mary (Ken) Hohensee of Bear Creek, Sue (John) Rusch of Shawano, Don (Charlotte) Olmsted of Bear Creek, Patty (Tom) Daley of Neenah, Joan (Jerry) Plumb of Clintonville, Jim (friend Ann Bancroft) Olmsted of New London, Mike (fiancée Sarah Janssen) Olmsted of Bear Creek, Jerry (Lisa) Olmsted of Clintonville, Andy (Lorry) Hoier of New London, John (Hazel) Hoier of New London, and Amy (Manuel) Silva of Appleton. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Kara Hoier of Hudson; her two Godsons, Chad Pingel and Alan Olmsted; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Chris is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence; her father and mother-in-law, Keith & Joan Olmsted; a brother-in-law, Rodney Hoier; and a nephew, Alex Olmsted.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 9th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Fr. John “Jack” Mullarkey will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, with a prayer service at 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church.

We also want to thank the entire 7th Floor team at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton, and the nurses with ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the compassionate care given to Mom.
