Biography

OBITUARY: Funeral services for Dora "Mutti" Jatzlau, 89 of Lexington, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington, Texas with Rev. Leif Hasskarl officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Jatzlau passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the Hearthstone Senior Health Center in Round Rock, Texas. Dora Annie Fischer Jatzlau was born on December 6, 1921 in Lexington, Texas to August & Annie (Duesberg) Fischer. She was united in marriage to Herbert Walter Jatzlau on December 9, 1939 at the Lexington Tabernacle in Lexington by Rev. Joe King. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother who enjoyed embroidery and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, August & Annie Fischer; her husband, Herbert Jatzlau; her daughter, Darlene Walther; son-in-law, Ronnie Akin and several sisters and a brother. She is survived by her two daughters LaVerne Akin of College Station and Joyce & Stephen Truett of Round Rock; son-in-law, Billy & Jennifer Walther of Lincoln; granddaughter, Lisa & Luke Calderone of Round Rock; four grandsons, Byron & Kristina Walther of Victoria, Barry & Susan Walther of Ledbetter, Rodney & Tonie Dube of College Station and Kevin & Debra Dube of College Station; nine great grandchildren, Christopher Dube of Bryan, Thomas Walther of Bristol, Tennessee, Chloe Walther Britani Walther both of Victoria, Jordan Walther and Blake Walther both of Ledbetter, Blakely Calderone and Avery Calderone both of Round Rock and James Vaughn of College Station and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Barry Walther, Byron Walther, Rodney Dube, Kevin Dube, Luke Calderone and Thomas Walther. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Lerche, Randy Jatzlau, Johnny Kieschnick and Billy Jatzlau. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
