Obituary for Wilhelm Fischer: "Maclean." Clarence and Richmond Examiner (Grafton, NSW: 1889 - 1915) 19 December 1891
The Late Mr. William Fischer.—Many expressions of regret may have been heard here on Tuesday, when it became known that the above gentleman had passed away. He had been suffering for the past few weeks from the prevailing epidemia influenza, and subsequently from internal cancer, to which he succumbed early on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was an old resident of the Clarence, and very much respected: his sterling character and genial manner made him a general favourite. He leaves a widow and large family. The remains were interred in the Church of England cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. R. J. Moxon officiating at the grave.
