1859 John is born on 28 March to John Quincy & Lucinda (Arney) Fiscus. He as an older sister, Amanda Jane, and an older brother, William.[3]

1870 John is 10 years old. He and his family live in Jefferson Township, Owen County, Indiana. Amanda "Manda" Jane (18) and William (13) are also at home.[4]

1882 When John is 23, he marries Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fiscus on 16 November.[1][3][2]

1883 William Leonard is born on 13 May.[1]

1890 John's father, John Quincy Fiscus, dies on 24 March.[3]

1891 William dies at age 8.[1]

1900 John and Sarah are living in Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois. Sarah's sister Fanny is living with them.[5]

1902 Sarah dies on 18 November.[3]

1910 John is widowed and living with his wife's sister, Lucy Ann, and her husband Thomas Lyster.[6]

1920 John is still living with his sister-in-law/cousin, Lucy Lyster, and her family in Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois at the time of the 1920 Census.[7]

1926 John dies on 19 December. He is buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois.[8][9]
