Biography
Cynthia Fish was born 21 SEP 1770 @ Groton, Connecticut, the eighth child (daughter) of Catharine (Helme) Fish, the second wife of Nathan Fish.
Cynthia married 14 Oct 1792 @ Stonington, Connecticut, Benadam Gallup, son of Benadam & Bridget (Palmer) Gallup. They resided at Groton, Connecticut, and had 9 children during the timespan through June 1812, including the following who died young:
- Austin Gallup, b. Feb. 24, 1796
- Roswell Gallup (March 11, 1798 - July 24, 1817)
At the 1850 census of Groton, Connecticut, Cynthia (by then, widowed 10 years) was enumerated in the household of her son John Gallup and his family [1].
Cynthia (Fish) Gallup died 23 Dec 1855 at Groton, Connecticut. Her grave is in Wightman Cemetery, Groton, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2].
