Biography

Thomas Fish was born on 19 Mar 1716 / 17, the son of William Fish and Mary (Bennett) Fish, at Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island [1].

He married and had several children at Tiverton, Rhode Island [1]. These are documented:

  • Zuriel Fish; married Alice Hart
  • Pardon Fish (1751-1850); married Rhoda Mosier
  • Caleb Fish, b. 1752; married Deborah
  • Robert Fish, b. about 1758
  • Abner Fish; married 1) Sallie Brewster; 2) Mary Ransbury

On 21 Feb 1764 he married a second time, to Rebecca (maiden surname possibly Brownell), the widow of Benjamin Turner. Together, they had at least two children: [1]

  • Brownell Fish, b 22 Sep 1765
  • Turner Fish, abt. 1760 - 21 Sep 1842; married Deborah W. Fish [2]

Notes

Do not confuse this person with Thomas Fish (1716-1775), son of Martha (Williams) and Moses Fish Sr. of Groton, who married Jemima Morgan.
