Biography

George was born about 1555.

According to the Visitation of Hertfordshire carried out in 1634, George's first marriage was to Elizabeth Thompson; Judith (called Judith Hanby in the Visitation) was the second wife.

George and Judith had children; the first son, Edward, was named as "Edward Fishe of Stevenage" and, in 1634, was recorded as being married to Mary Noades, the daughter of Edmond Noades of Stevenage. ^[1]

Baptismal records from Southill show that George's children included:

• Edward Fish, christened on 03 January 1579 ^[2]
• Handbie Fish, a son, christened on 28 September 1581 ^[3]
• Ann Fish, christened on 18 December 1582 ^[4]
• Cecily Fish, christened on 15 August 1585 ^[5]
• Constance Fish, christened on 13 January 1588 ^[6]
• Benjamin Fish, christened on 18 August 1589 ^[7]
