DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Horace by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Horace:
Also, they perhaps had the following (again unsourced!) children:
Julia b. 18 July 1825 at Hatley, Stanstead, Quebec;
Sarah b. 24 Oct 1828 at Hatley;
Betsey Jane b. 09 Aug 1836 at Compton, Sherbrooke, Quebec;
Joseph b. 27 Jun 1840 at "Grove, Jolliette County, Illinois" (questionable place);
Anna Maria b. 14 May 1842 at Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois;
Franklin Richards b. 12 Apr 1848 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa.
(deleted last bit as I had the death date/location for his wife in error)
Hi Elizabeth, I have (unsourced!) info from a fellow researcher that gives Horace's lineage as: Joseph (1770-1859) & Sarah Spear > Nathan (1730-1776) & Molly Pierce > Nathan (ca. 1707) Lydia Bennett. Since this came with no source info, I can't offer a lot except to give it to you in case you might find clues.
