Sorry to ask this and I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to researching our Fish family. Would you mind changing Mary's LNAB to Unknown please? It might help me figure out part of my Fish family. I've been meaning to reach out to you about some of my thoughts on this. But, I end up chasing another rabbit. : ) Thanks again for all your work!
Cousin Cheri
Her marriage record calls her Mary Fish of Falmouth before she married, not just after. It's not unusual in this location for there to be cousin marriages, even though they probably weren't close cousins.
Rabbit holes everywhere else, but this bunch is the Fish Pond.
The most solid proof that her surname before her marriage to Simeon is in the Falmouth marriage intentions: "Simeon Fish of Sandwich and Mary Fish of Falmouth ware published Dcr 2nt 1745."
Love the Nope! :) Thanks for pointing that out about Mary's marriage record. I'm sorry I missed that. And Yep to cousins that married, I've got quite a few (in the past). It reminds me of when I was a child and had a crush on my cousin. We were military and didn't get to see them much. Mom explained to me how we were related. I guess that was my first lesson in genealogy! Lol
