Fifer Cyrus Fish served with Sherburne's Additional Continental Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Cyrus Fish is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A041237.

Cyrus Fish, born in 1762, was the second child of Jemima (Williams) Fish (1730-) and Jason Fish (1726-1798) [1].

American Revolutionary War service: Cyrus Fish enlisted in the Colonial Army in 1778, age 16, he served as a fifer, drummer with Captain Stanton[2] and served until the end of the war.

He married Bridget Jones, daughter of Samuel Jones (who was also a Revolutionary War soldier). They had 7 children:

  1. Cyrus Fish (1794-1870); married Sophia Starr
  2. Grace Fish (1796-1835); married Elijah Akins
  3. Sheldon Fish (1798-1877); married Almira Stetson
  4. Artemas Fish (1800-1882)
  5. Harriet Fish (1802-1896); married Jessie Landon
  6. Maria Fish (1804-1893); married Henry Baker
  7. Lucy Fish (1807-1853)

Cyrus Fish died 25 Jan 1816 at Ellicott, New York. His grave is in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, Chautauqua County, New York, USA [3]. Per the caption of this online memorial site, his remains were moved there 24 Apr 1865 from the original burial ground near H. Baker residence.
