John Fish was born 11 Apr 1797, the second child of Charles Fish and Jemima Powell. His birth family began in or near Lanesborough, Massachusetts, and had not moved to New York State until several years into the 1800s, so his birth place probably was in western Massachusetts.
He married first, Jan. 15, 1824, Olive Belcher, daughter of Elijah Belcher and his third wife Lydia (Burbank) aka Clark; they had 6 children, all of whom died young. Olive died 21 May 1839 in Tioga County, New York [1].
In 1841 John Fish removed to Palmyra, Wisconsin, where he married second, Harriet Loomer (23 Dec 1819 - 22 Mar 1893 [2]); their children:
John Fish died 24 Apr 1851.
John's second wife, Harriet Loomer, was a daughter of Stephen Loomer (1789-1858) and probably Cynthia Huldah (Strong; 1793-abt.1823). After John died, she married second, James William Woodworth.
