Biography

Heman N Fish was born in Canton, Maine on 10 Aug 1858, the son and youngest of known children of Leonard More Fish Sr. (Fish-805) and Catharine C. (Gray) Fish (Gray-21157). He married Eva J Canterbury on 26 Jan 1887 in Palmer, Massachusetts. They had one child, a daughter Lila Belle born in Palmer, Massachusetts on 9 Jan 1888.

The family lived in Palmer, Massachusetts in 1910 where Heman was an overseer of a cotton textile mill. By 1910 the family had moved to Nashua, New Hampshire where Heman in a foreman at a mill. The 1930's census states that he is an overseer of a textile mill. In 1930, he owned his own home valued at the time at $20000.

Heman, not Herman, is buried at the Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, New Hampshire. His given name as engraved on his gravestone as well as used in numerous vital records is "Heman" although a number of other documents state "Herman" as his given name.

His death record indicates that he died of pancreatic cancer and that he was an overseer.
