NOTE: Observe care not to confuse this person with Anthony Fish, son of Catherine (Brown) and Samuel Fish, born about 1793, died about 1825 by drowning at Ram Island, who married Phebe Fish, with whom he had 6 children.
This Anthony Fish was born about 1793, son of Hannah (Chipman; 1772-1856) and Anthony Fish (1766-1854).
Anthony married Sarah (Latham; 1800-1867) [1].
There were many children of this union, these of whom are adequately documented:
The 1850 census of Groton, Connecticut, listed Anthony, Sarah, and some of the children of this family [2]. Anthony and Sarah were counted in the 1860 census [3], thereafter Anthony (widowed) continued to be counted in Groton for the duration of his life. In later years he was joined in household by his daughter Sarah (Fish) Chipman and her family, who by 1880 became head(s) of household [4],[5]. From these records it is evident that Anthony Fish was a fisherman and farmer.
This Anthony Fish passed away in Groton, Connecticut, 20 November 1880 [6]. His grave is in Fish Cemetery #02, Groton, New London County, Connecticut, USA [7].
