Conrad was the son of William and Susan (Stewart) Fishburn of Pike County, Ohio, and the brother of John, Edwin, Andrew, Polly, Anna Mae, Willie, Charles, and James. He married Martha Woodell on March 10, 1880, in Pike County, Ohio. Their children were James Ira, May, Isaac Ross, William Clay, Mary, Francis, Susan, and Foster. Conrad and Martha moved to Illinois around 1898.
