Biography

I’m sourcing profiles for more accurate family trees, while at the same time making careful leaps to prove, disprove and answer long lost questions. For me, transferring information from one tree to the next isn't enough. I enjoy speculation and try to add notes when I can. Adding sources, people and family stories are like adding community.

Hi Jenny,

Have you ever considered participating in one of WikiTree's Connect-A-Thons? It's a great opportunity to add new profiles, whether they are extended family members or someone who fits into of one of your projects. The next one will run from Friday, April 22nd to Monday, April 25th.

If you are interested in participating, you can sign up in the G2G forum registration post at https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1392037/have-you-registered-for-the-april-2022-connect-a-thon-yet?show=1395381#c1395381 and add another badge to your collection. They ask you to join a team, so I invite you to join the Mid-Atlantic Team since I notice you have roots in Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. You are not limited to adding profiles for only this region, of course. Like you, most of us have roots in many other regions and countries. Hope you'll consider joining the fun!

Wow, Jenny, you sure have been busy! I am a John Leming descendant, and I really appreciate all your work!
You might want to set your Privacy to Private with Public Family Tree. The WikiTree programming needs to see your Family Tree tab to make DNA and other cousin connections for you. Please take a look at my profile http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cooper-1 where I use Private with Public Biography AND Family Tree to see a list of some of my WikiTree cousin connections and my list of U.S. Presidential cousins.

Jennifer, you are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! You might want to check out our Question of the Week for tips on how to grow your tree Any tidbits of information you've discovered to pass down to the next generation?

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches –

Hi Jennifer,

A warm welcome to WikiTree, a genealogy site different than any other! You should have received an email from us with helpful links to get started.

Our goal is to have one single profile per person so that we have ONE big family tree and we collaborate together to make that happen.

Each volunteer at WikiTree adds to the collaborative tree at their own pace, there are no minimum requirements for time or entry.

When you volunteer, you indicate your interests by adding tags and comments and then one of our Greeters will confirm your membership.

Please check out our question of the week: Aside from a person, what has been your absolutely “best source” of information?

Welcome to the family!

Laura, WikiGreeter
