Susannah Fisher, daughter of Stephen Fisher and Mary Magdalene Garr, was born Mar 25 1778 in Madison County, Virginia. The following year her parents moved the family over the mountains to the Kentucky, then still wilderness, and she grew up on her father’s home, a fortified station with a blockhouse near Harrodstown in what became Mercer County in 1785 and Boyle County in 1842.
In 1801 she married Augustine Smith Slaughter, age 32 - their license was issued on February 12, 1801[1] Her older brother Benjamin served as the bondsman. Augustine had served as Benjamin’s bondsman six years earlier, when he married Augustine’s sister Eleanor.
The Slaughter home was about 15 miles to the north on Slaughter Fork of Shawnee Run near present Shakerstown.
She died August 30, 1829, and buried in family graveyard on their plantation.
Find-a-grave says she died in Boyle Co. A correction was submitted Nov 27, 2020.
