Biography

Margaret was born about 1690.

After Duncan's death, Margaret came to America bringing with her all the children she had, except Malcolm, who had come before, and was with his uncle Alexander McNaughton on the Argyle patent or subsequently came there with him.

Duncan and Margaret had six children: Malcolm McNaughton 1733-1826, Margaret McNaughton 1736-1817, Daniel McNaughton about 1739-after 1802, Findlay McNaughton after 1742-1798, Jennie McNaughton after 1745-after 1810 and Mary McNaughton after 1748-1822.

Margaret was the sister of Donald Fisher, who had become the owner of some of the military patents located in Pawlet and Hebron, New York and perhaps on his invitation she came to America, Donald came to America during the French and Indian War and remained in New York working as a Tailor after his regiment was disbanded in 1763.[1][2]
