Biography

Kingsdown (Ringwould), Kent -Historical Description -Kingsdown, a village and an ecclesiastical district in Ringwould parish, Kent. The village stands on the coast picturesquely under cliffs, l ΒΌ mile SE of Walmer station on the Dover & Deal Joint railway. Jack enlisted in Canterbury, October 14, 1907, when discharged he was a Rank Corporal. He was in the Prince of Wale's Royal Horse Artillery in England. Occupation -1921 Motor Bus Conductor, 1920 Clerk 1925 Butcher Journeyman. Immigration with his son Ted: 09 Sep 1926 -Ship: Montcalm, Canadian Pacific to Quebec, Canada. After the death of his wife Kathleen, Jack and his young son Ted are emigrating to Elm Creek, Manitoba. Jack intends to farm and will start off by being employed by Mr. H Lunstam. -from the Barry Family Tree on Ancestry. UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960 Immigration & Emigration - Birth 1891 - Departure -09 Sep 1926 - Liverpool, England - Age: 35, Destination -Quebec, Canada, Name Edwin Fisher -Other, Captain S H Milton. Jack immigrated to Canada in 1926 with his son Ted and never saw his beloved daughter Kathleen again. He greatly mourned the loss of never again seeing her or being with her. He also missed his England and his home.

Death -Reverend Percy Shepherd officiated at the service. He was a boyhood friend of Ida's oldest son Robert (Bob) Dodds. On June 14, 1999 Rev. Percy Shepherd and his wife Noreen were both killed in a car accident on the Trans Canada Highway near Carberry, Manitoba.
