Biography

Nancy Jane Fisher was born the 10th of December 1840 in Kentucky. Nancy was the daughter of James Fisher and Eliza Bennett.

Nancy, age 9, appears in the 1850 Federal census in the household of her father, James. Fisher, in Polk County, Missouri.[1]

Nancy J., age 19, appears in the 1860 Federal census in the household of her father, James Fisher, in Polk County, Missouri. Nancy's name is listed as Jane Fisher.[2]

Nancy married sometime before 1865, Henry Bannister Lightfoot.

Nancy J., age 30, appears in the 1870 Federal census in the household of her husband Henry B. Lightfoot, in Polk County, Missouri. Henry B. Lightfoot's household appears as follows: Henry B., age 33; Nancy J., age 30; Ella E., age 5; James R., age 3; and William H., age 1.[3]

Nancy, age 39, appears in the 1880 Federal census in the household of her husband Henry B. Lightfoot, in Polk County, Missouri.[4]

Nancy, age 59, appears in the 1900 Federal census in the household of her husband Henry B. Lightfoot, in Polk County, Missouri. Nancy is listed in the census as the mother of 8 children with 7 children living.[5]

Nancy died on the 17th of May 1902 in Polk County, Missouri. Nancy was buried in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery, Polk County, Missouri.[6]
