Biography

Overview

Minerva Fisk (often spelled Fish) was born 25 March 1799 in East Windsor, Connecticut. Research has not revealed the identity of her parents. She died in Westerville, Ohio on May 9, 1873.

Early Life

According to family records, Minerva Fisk was born in the Warehouse Point section of East Windsor, Connecticut on 25 March 1799. Not much is know about her prior to her marriage. Her parents' identities have not be determined.

Marriage

Minerva married Horace Spring in the Second Congregational Church in East. Windsor, Connecticut on March 15, 1824 before Rev. Shubbael Bartlett.

Children

Together with husband, Horace Spring, Minerva had six children:
The first three children were born in East Windsor, Connecticut and the last three children were born in Westerville, Ohio. Henry died on 20 May 1829 in East Windsor.

Home Life

Minerva, Horace and two young sons migrated from Connecticut to Blendon Township, Ohio about 1830, settling about two miles south of Westerville. In April 1836, they moved a short distance and, there, they established a farmstead out of the wilderness and lived lives "full of hard, but successful labor, and devoid of exciting incidents or events.

Death and Burial

Minerva died on May 9, 1873 at home in Westerville, Ohio. She was buried at the Olde Methodist Cemetery in Westerville, Ohio.
