NOTE: In this Benjamin's marriage record the person who transcribed the detail interprets the middle initial as a "J." In other records it is interpreted as an I. A record for the father of this Benjamin, (see father's profile (Fiske-885) gives this Benjamin's middle initial as "i" for Ichabod."
Source 1: A marriage registration in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts for the 1855 marriage of Benjamin J. Fiske to Caroline A Woods. About Benjamin, the record tells us he was 26 at the time of this marriage, born and residing at the time from Lexington, MA and gives an occupation of "express," (?). The record gives Benjamin's father's name, but it is undecipherable, except "Benj...", suggesting "Benjamin." The record says that this is the 1st marriage for both the bride and the groom.
Source 2: 1865 Massachusetts census finds this Benjamin living in Charlestown, Middlesex, Massachusetts with his wife, Caroline A. (of Leominster, MA). No children. The person who transcribed the record interpreted the middle initial as "I". It clearly could be a "J." The record says Benjamin is a 36yr old "milkman" at this time.
Source 3: A death registration for the death of a Benjamin I "Fisco" in Boston, MA is 1888. THis is clearly our Benjamin I Fiske, (with a transcription error). Gives his occupation as milkman and gives his parents as "Benjamin and Sarah," but a contradiction is given in his place of birth. This record says "Billerica, MA."
This Benjamin's registration of death...as registered in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts has some contradictions compared to Source 3. This source gives hid dod, occupation and parents same as above, but this source says he died in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts and that he was born in Billerica, MA. I will mark place of birth and place of death as "uncertain."
Source 6: Is an advertisement of the auction of this Benjamin's horse and buggy upon his death. The ad says the horse was kept in Charlestown, MA and the auction would close out his estate of his wife Caroline Fiske who died in December 1888, five months after this Benjamin.
