Biography

Abigail's Great Grandfather was William Bradford of the Mayflower.[1]

Abigail Fitch, daughter of James and Abigail (Bradford) Fitch, was born in Norwich, Connecticut, 22 Feb 1687/8.[1]

She married, as his first wife, John Dyer on 22 Oct 1713 at the First Congregational Church in Canterbury. John Dyar was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts 9 April 1692, son of Joseph and Hannah (Baxter) Dyer. He married second Joane (Christophers) Leffingwell, and died 25 Feb 1779 in Canterbury.[1]

James Fitch of Canterbury sold to his son-in-law John Dyer 12 acres on 12 Jan 1721/2 and on 28 March 1723 all his land in Canterbury not otherwise disposed of.[1]

Between the years 1743 and 1759 John Dyar sold and gave land to his sons Elijah, James, John, and Joseph. His will dated 1773 and proved 1779, mentioned his wife Joanna and children: Sibel Throop, Abigal Cobb, Sarah Hares, John, Joseph, Elija and James Fitch.

Abigail Dyar died in Canterbury, Connecticut, 19 May 1759 age 71[1] and was buried at Carey Cem, Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut.[2]
