Based on the above record George Fite, his son Pleasant and probably George's family were living in Smith County, Tennessee around 1815. This is about the time Barbara Fite probably the oldest child married Moses Spencer. It appears that Barbara stayed with her husband while George Fite and his family returned to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina by 1817. 1810 and 1820 Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Censuses they were in Capt Spratt's District

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:

Fite-395 and Fite-117 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles are duplicates. Same parents, same siblings, same wife.
Fite-395 and Fite-117 are not ready to be merged because: While there is agreement on many things between Fite-395 and Fite-117, I would like time to verify George Fite's father. Also, this proposal has highlighted the fact that George Fite has been attached as a child to himself and I'm not entirely sure how to correct that situation. I believe once that is remedied all of these half siblings will drop off. Jemima Fite was my great grandmother and I would just like to check some things against some papers she left with other family members.
Donna and/or Kitty,

I have merged Fite-175 into Fite-119. Of course now there are a great many duplicate profiles among the children -- not all, but quite a few. I started with George Fite, attempting to merge Fite-173 into Fite- 117. WikiTree just kept telling me that the two profiles were already connected in a proposed merge, but would not let me complete the merge.

Perhaps I need to be placed on the trusted list for Fite-173. If you would take care of that I will start back on these merges tomorrow. I still have at least 9 more merges after the Fites are finished and I would like to get as much done tomorrow as I can.

Thanks, Judy
