Biography

Elizabeth was born on 25 January 1825, per her gravestone.

Elizabeth died on 23 March 1890 and was buried in the Cornelius Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Etowah County, Alabama. Her husband, Harvey Cornelius, was buried in the same cemetery, as were several children.

Research Notes

• Removed Dekalb County, Alabama as birthplace, because the county wasn't created until January 1836, over a decade after the birth.
• Etowah County marriage location is also incorrect, because that county wasn't created until 1868, when Baine County was renamed. Baine County was created in December 1866 from Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, DeKalb, Marshall and St. Clair counties. The marriage may have occurred in one of those counties.
• Elizabeth's maiden name comes from multiple children's death certificates.
