Before May 15, 1642 -- Nathaniel Fitz Randolph was born at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony (now Barnstable County, Massachusetts). [1] [2] [3] [4]
May 15, 1642 -- Nathaniel was baptized at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony (now Barnstable County, Massachusetts). [5] [6]
November 16, 1662 -- Nathaniel Fitz Randolph and Mary Holley Mary Holley married at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony (now Barnstable County, Massachusetts). [7] [8] [9]
1663 - 1674 -- Nathaniel and Mary Holley Fitz Randolph had seven children, all born at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony (now Barnstable County, Massachusetts). [10]

Nathaniel was one of the four men who first asked for religious tolerance for the Society of Friends (aka Quakers) in New England. Nathaniel had joined the Quakers years before, and had in consequence suffered much persecution from the Plymouth Colony Government. [12]
1677 -- Nathaniel exchanged his house at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony (now Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts) for land at Woodbridge, Middlesex county, the Province of Jersey (now New Jersey). [13]
1678 - 1679 -- Nathaniel moved with his family to Woodbridge, Middlesex County, Province of East Jersey (now New Jersey). Several of his brothers, who held Baptist beliefs, had left Plymouth Colony for the Province of Jersey (now New Jersey) about 10 years earlier. [14]
One biographer has said: "The emigration of [the Nathaniel Fitz Randolph] family [from Plymouth Colony] to the Province of East Jersey (now New Jersey) was prompted by the severe enactments of the court of the old colonies, prohibiting the free exercise of individual consciences, compelling every person to sustain by tax the established Church worship, and imposing banishment upon any who opposed infant baptism. [15]
1683 -- upon the death of James Bollen, the first Secretary of the Province of East Jersey, Nathaniel was one of the two guardians of Bollen's children. [16] [17]
1688, 1692, 1698 -- Nathaniel served as associate justice of Middlesex County, Province of East Jersey (now New Jersey).
1693 - 1695 -- Nathaniel represented Woodbridge, Middlesex County in the East Jersey Provincial Assembly.
1703 -- Mary Holley Fitz Randolph died.
April 12, 1707 -- Nathaniel Fitz Randolph and Jane (Curtis Ogborne) Hampton married at Haddonfield, Gloucester County, (now Camden County) New Jersey. The marriage was recorded at the Shrewsbury Monthly Meeting. [18] [19]
Nathaniel Fitz Randolph was the 3rd husband of Jane Curtis. She married a fourth time after Nathaniel died.
? ? 16?? -- Nathaniel and Jane Curtis Fitz Randolph had one son, Samuel Fitzrandolph[citation needed]
1706 -- the Woodbridge Monthly Meeting of Friends was established. Nathaniel became an active member of the Society, and for seven years the Meeting was held in his house, until the completion of the Meeting House in 1713, two months before his death.
November 21, 1713 -- Nathaniel died at Woodbridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey.
Nathaniel Fitz Randolph was buried at the Friends Meeting House Burial Ground, Shrewsbury (Long Branch), Monmouth County, New Jersey. [20]
U.S. President Barack Obama is a direct descendant of Nathaniel and Mary Holley through their son Samuel.[21][22]
