Edward Arthur Fitzgerald was born in the Colony of Victoria in 1868. He was the son of Nicholas Fitzgerald and his wife Marianne O’Shanassy.
He died in London in 1942.

Cabled advice has been received that Mr Edward Fitzgerald died in London on October 11. Mr Fitz-gerald, who was well known in the professional and social life of Mel-bourne for many years, was a son of the late Mr Nicholas Fitzgerald, MLC, a Victorian pioneer and a well-known pastoralist and business man. He was born in Melbourne, and educated at Oscot School, in England, and Trinity College, Dub-lin, where he graduated LLB. Mr Fitzgerald practised as a solicitor in Melbourne for about 40 years. Mr Fitzgerald, who was a bachelor, was a member of Melbourne and Aus-tralian clubs, Royal Melbourne Golf Club, and other sporting clubs. About 6 years ago he went to live in London, where he resided up to the time of his death.
