Biography

Joanna FitzMaurice was born about 1600, the daughter of Patrick FitzMaurice, Lord of Kerry, and Jane Roche. She married Donal O'Sullivan of Dunkerron where he held of office of Chief of O'Sullivan. https://www.thepeerage.com/p15673.htm#i156721

Protestant Oliver Cromwell invaded Ireland and between 1649 and 1653 he reduced the Irish population by two thirds either in battle or by forced migration as involuntary indentured servants.

In 1642 she, being a widow of Donal O'Sullivan Mor, and other members of her family deeded their lands of Cullinagh, Killow, etc, to Donogh McGillicuddy. She passed away before 1659 and her will was probated in Coolmagort, County Kerry, Ireland.
