Biography

Col William Fitzgerald, IV was born on September 30, 1811 in Virginia. He had one son and one daughter with Mary A. Fitzgerald (Bledsoe) between 1842 and 1854. They were married in Limestone, Alabama on Nov 20, 1842. William died on October 1, 1854 in Lawrence County, Alabama at the age of 43 and was buried there.

Research on 3-Fold revealed: Col William Fitzgerald, IV, was commissioned as a Colonel in the 7th Regiment, 2nd Division, 4th Brigade, Alabama Militia on July 23, 1833, and was appointed as Colonel Commandant on April 28, 1840.
