Susan, who went by her middle name, Olive, was born in 1839 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Allen Fitzgerald and Rebecca Steers. Olive was married twice. She had three daughters by her first husband, Samuel Cox; Stella, Mary, and Rosy and a son, Samuel Jr who was born in 1870, a year before his father's death. Nineteen years after Samuel's death in 1871, she married John Talbert. The record of that marriage names Allen Fitzgerald and Rachel Steers as her parents. They had no children. She passed away in 1937.
