Mary died in the presence of Nellie on 25 Oct 1911.[4][4]
Research Notes
Mary Flaherty married John Savage. We know of Mary Flaherty through her daughter Deborah[5] who left Ireland for America.
Marriage
The marriage records list only one name and a search for records in the years leading up to and including the year their first child was born shows only one year in which both a 'John Savage' and a 'Mary Flaherty' were registered in the same town (Tralee).[6][7]. However, it turns out that Mary Flaherty was not marrying John Savage rather Timothy Morierty[8] and John Savage was marrying Johanna Doyle[9] No marriage records or any details of the marriage have been discovered other than the 1901 census that places the year of marriage at 1861.
Death
Although there is a woman named Mary Savage who died 27 Nov 1910[10][11], she could not be the same as the one here as she is listed as a widow in the registry and both she and her husband seem to be very much alive in the 1911 census. The Mary who died in the presence of Nellie on 25 Oct 1911 is the proper one with little or no doubt.[4]
