Kate was born in Wakefield, Waimea South, Nelson, and was quite likely delivered by her grandmother, Elizabeth Betsy Brown nee Wadsworth, who had a nursing home near Hoults Road in Wai-iti, where many of the Flanagan children were born.
Wedding Bells - A very pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, April 28th at All Saints Church, the Rev. W. S. Lucas officiating between Mr William James Parmer ANTRIDGE, youngest son of Mr ANTRIDGE of Auckland and Miss Edith Katheline FLANAGAN (Kate) second daughter of the late Mr G. W. FLANAGAN of Wangapeka. The bride who was given away by her brother, wore striped pale blue silk voile (Empire) trimmed with silk over al lace and ribbons and a black picture hat trimmed with ostrich feathers and she carried the usual shower bouquet. She was attended by her two sisters, Miss Jessie and Clara FLANAGAN, who wore cream silk striped cashmere prettily trimmed with cream insertion and also carrying bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Frederick Hill acting as best man. ....... The happy could couple left on Thursday by the s.s. Takapuna for their future home in Auckland with all good wishes of their many friends in Nelson.

Research Notes
Although Kate's birth was registered as "Edith Kate Flanagan",[7] it appears that she used the name Edith Katheline for much of her life.
It is also noted that Edith Katherine is the name used in the New Zealand electoral rolls.
Katheline was possibly the middle name used at her baptism, or within the church as noted after contact with St Mary's Parish in 2005:
