Bridget Flanagan was born on 7 Oct 1884 in Annaghbeg, Annaghmore. She was the daughter of James Flanagan and Catherine Flanagan[1].
She was the third of eight children. They grew up in a thatched cottage on their father's small farm. It had three rooms and three front windows. There was a cow house and shed beside the house. In 1901, Bridget (16) lived with James (47), Kate (45), Elizabeth (19), Timothy (18), Patrick (14), Teresa (12), Agnes (10), Margaret Mary (8) and James (3)[2].
