Andrew, born in 1845 in Montreal, was the son of foundry owner Alexander Fleck and his wife Lilias Walker. He married E. Gertrude Booth, the eldest daughter of John R. Booth, in 1881, and they had two sons and two daughters. They lived in Ottawa, Ontario.
Andrew was the secretary-treasurer of the Canada Atlantic Railway and a well-known Ottawa philanthropist. He died in 1924 in Ottawa.
