On December 13, 1852, he was listed as the first mate on the Brilliant, which carried his family among a group of emigrants to Melbourne, Australia[10][4][11]
George Stephen Fletcher died June 8, 1854 in Melbourne, Australia[4], and is buried in Melbourne General Cemetery[16][2]
