Sarah was born in 1846 in Hanborough, Oxfordshire.[1] She was the daughter of David Fletcher and Jane Woodward. Her baptism took place at the parish church of St Peter and St Paul on 15th February 1846.[2] Her father stated on the register that he was a labourer.
