Arilla was born in 1912 in Maryborough, Wellington, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of Joseph Fletcher and Maud Cadwell.

GOWING, Arilla Jane - Of Listowel, passed away, peacefully, at Listowel Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, May 8, 1997, in her 85th year. Arilla Jane Fletcher, beloved wife of the late Charles O'Drowsky (1962) and the late Harper Gowing (1975).

Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Elsie Tittle of Kitchener, Ken Secrett and his wife Rosemary of Kitchener, Grace Inglia and Nelson Cook of Guelph, and Bryan Secrett and his wife Lorraine of Fordwich. Also survived several grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one sister, Vera Maude Secrett and two brothers, George and Melvin Fletcher.

Friends may pay their respects at the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton, Friday, May 9, 1997 (tonight) from 7-8 p.m. when Rev. Vern Toter will conduct funeral and committal service in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. Interment: Drayton Cemetery.
