ATHENS — Funeral services for Gladys M. Miller, 83, of Independence, Mo., and formerly of Athens are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel in Athens with the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating. 1

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens. 1

Mrs. Miller died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in Independence, Mo. 1

She was born March 20, 1923, in Anderson County to the late Hiriam Arnold and Minnie Bell Langston Fletcher. 1

Preceding her in death is her husband, W.N. “Nolan” Miller, on May 7, 1994. 1

Mrs. Miller was a resident of Henderson County most of her life, and for the past two-and-a-half years had lived in Independence, Mo., where she was a member of the Nolan Road Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Miller Construction Company in Athens, as well as Ranchers. 1

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Charlene and Kenneth Bledsoe of Independence, Mo., Carolyn Monroe of Redding, Calif., and Rose Ann Gorman of Frisco; brother, Travis Fletcher of Tyler; sister, Pauline Johnson of Dallas; six wonderful grandchildren, Michael Bledsoe of Lees Summit, Mo., Matt Bledsoe of Independence, Mo., Wendy Marlo Applehoff of Huntington Beach, Calif., Christal Davis of Dallas and Charles Gorman and Julie Gorman, both of Frisco; four precious great-grandchildren, Alexa Bledsoe and Andrew Bledsoe, both of Independence, Mo., and Taylor Davis and Chase Davis, both of Dallas. 1

Pallbearers will be Michael Bledsoe, Matt Bledsoe, Randy Paris, Clay Davis, Lynn Scarbrough and Dexter Monroe. 1

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. 1
