FLETCHER FUNERAL SUNDAY AFTERNOON Aged Crawfordsville Man Died Yesterday--Leaves Eleven Children
Funeral Services for John T. Fletcher will be held at the residence here Sabbath afternoon at two o'clock, in charge of the Rev. J. F. Barnett, pastor of the Methodist church.
About a year ago Mr. Fletcher suffered a stroke of paralysis which affected his left side, and he became steadily weaker until his death yesterday. For a year he had been nearly blind, but retained the use of his other faculties and was greatly interested in the affairs of the day, despite his advanced age and his poor health.
John Thomas Fletcher was born in Fauquier county Virginia March 14, 1833 making him nearly 87 years of age. The family moved to Belmont county Ohio in 1835 and to Bureau county Illinois in 1844. He was married to Katherine Kinnick March 13, 1869, and they lived in Illinois until their removal to the Fletcher farm northeast of this place in 1884.
Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher. A daughter died in Illinois and Mr. Fletcher is survived by his widow and eleven children, who are: Roy Fletcher of Winfield, Mrs. Frank Hull of Williamsburg, Kan., O. L. Fletcher of Sheflield, Ill., Eugene Fletcher of Columbus Junction and Jack, James, Clint, Frank, Mrs. J. E. Williams, Miss Nellie and Miss Grace Fletcher of Crawfordsville. There are also 24 grand children and 12 great-grandchildren. One sister lives in Illinois.
Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary last March.
Mr. Fletcher united with the United Brethren church in Illinois when 24 years of age and retained his connection with the church until the congregation was disbanded.

The funeral of Mr. J. T. Fletcher was held at the residence yesterday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. T. Barnett of the Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Huston, Mrs. H. B. Graham and J. A. Moorehead sang. The pall bearers were: Roy, James, Jack, Ora, Clint and Frank Fletcher, all sons of the deceased. Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were O. L. Fletcher of Sheffield, Ill., Mrs. Frank Hull of Williamsburg, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fletcher of Columbus Junction, Iowa, Mrs. Homby and her sister of northern Iowa., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fletcher and daughter, Hazel, Harry Fletcher and two daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Gipple of near Winfield, Mrs. I. L. Milton of Evanston, Ill. Miss Della Fletcher of Winfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ross of Wayland.
