As you have been a member of WikiTree for about a week now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.
Has the New Member How-To been helpful or left you with any questions?
I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.
Welcome to Wikitree. There are 182 people collaborating on various branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance, please contact me. If you trace your roots to my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) [Barnes-1145] or Solomon [Barnes-368] also an ancestor, by all means letss connect. I operate a website devoted to Brinsley and Solomon Sr. (1751-1807) both of whom migrated to what became Wilkes County, NC in 1777. Solomon arrived in what was then Rowan County in about 1771. Brinsley arrived in Wilkes about 1784. At the time this was Indian Territory. Solomons roots are English, and he James and Keturah Shipley Barnes descend from the same line. The website also discusses their descendants who migrated to Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri. Brinsleys Irish family has been in America since 1734. The two families have seven Revolutionary War Patriots, one served under Washington at Valley Forge. A new story is announced every three or four months. To be notified every time a new adventure is added to our website, fill out the form at https://competitivestrategies.us/barnes-family/ .

Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
